Online Pupillage Advocacy Training
PLEASE NOTE: Due to high demand for places we are only able to take bookings from 2nd six pupils at the Bar in England and Wales.
We are pleased to announce Online Pupillage Advocacy Training, which will operate during the closure of the courts due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
This project has been launched to allow second six pupils, who would ordinarily be starting to attend court and conduct hearings, to take part in online advocacy sessions with experienced advocacy trainers.
By following the link below, you will be able to sign up for either a criminal or civil session. Each session will take place at 4:30pm on weekdays and will involve up to 4 pupils and 2 trainers. Each session will last a maximum of 90 minutes.
Before your session takes place, you will be assigned a role and sent some instructions.
At the session, you will be invited to deliver your advocacy and you will then receive feedback. We will also ask for your feedback on the session.
All the advocacy trainers involved in this project have volunteered to give their time to help the junior Bar. As a mark of professional respect to them please ensure you only sign up for a session that you know you will be able to attend.
We are keen to make this opportunity available to as many pupils as possible during this period so please only sign up to one session. If any advocacy training is available via your Chambers, we would ask you to leave these sessions free for pupils who do not currently have the same opportunities.
